Salary: $700 per contact hour
Duties: Teaches courses in Addiction Counseling Specialist Studies, particularly those offered toward requirements for a CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) using syllabus provided by the Social Science Department;  communicates and executes classroom plans effectively;  clarifies student expectations and standards for assessing learning; pursues professional development and teaching effectiveness through attendance at workshops and conferences; monitors overall student progress; stays abreast of, and reinforces, regulatory and procedural changes in the Addiction Professional Certification Board of New Jersey, Inc; adheres to departmental and college policies.
Minimum Requirements:

Education: 

Master’s degree in social work, human services, counseling or psychology.

Experience:

  • Minimum five years’ experience working in addictions field preferred.  
  • Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor for minimum of two years required. 
  • Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications.

 

Competencies and Skills:

  • Strong communication skills and computer literacy

 

Terms of Employment:

  • This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
