The Director of the Wind Training Center and Renewable Energy Programs will be responsible for day-to-day business operations and management of all employees in the training center's safe operation, including the welfare and safety of visitors and students. Development of working relationships with current and future clients and ongoing engagement with the College's stakeholders.

  • Creates and supervises required program schedules
  • Responsible for recruitment and intake of participants
  • Supervises all program activities
  • Supervises, evaluates, and guides instructional and support staff assigned to the program
  • Ensures all departments act in compliance with FERPA, Title IX, Title IV, Clery Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and other federal and state regulations as well as college policy
  • Collects, compiles, and reports program and participant data to College and required agencies
  • Maintains participant data and oversees the maintenance of participant files
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required
  • Manages and develops employer relationships
  • Represents the program at internal and external events
  • Works with other College departments to meet program objectives and requirements
  • Conducts inventory of equipment and supplies, coordinates repair/maintenance as needed
  • Uses College's student and financial information system as needed
  • Participates in professional associations and groups
  • Performs related duties as assigned

GWO Specific Duties:

  • Consults with instructors to provide/ensure standardized and consistent delivery, ongoing support, learning and mentoring, and creating a solid team spirit and work ethic
  • Develops and assesses program goals and objectives
  • Ensures high levels of operational flexibility are built into course delivery
  • Ensures all training equipment, facilities and resources are maintained to a high standard and in line with statutory requirements
  • Manages the instructor qualification process for delivery of courses
  • Organizes and manages resources to optimize center profitability
  • Personally, delivers training courses to the highest standards of quality following the pre-determined syllabus for the course allocated, taking account of the requirements of all applicable training standards, legislation, and ACCC QMS
  • Responsible for the perpetual review and revisions of training standards & legislation, ensuring that amendments are communicated, implemented, and documented
  • Supervises students throughout theoretical and practical training sessions ensuring all exercises are conducted in a competent, safe, and professional manner
  • Works closely with management, course sales, and administration to ensure the highest levels of operational flexibility, customer service, and efficiency
Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree (in related or associated with the wind energy sector preferred)
  • American Heart Association's Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within six months
  • OSHA 30 Training (for construction)
  • GWO Basic Safety Training w/Sea Survival certified, or ability to become GWO certified


  • A minimum of three years of experience in wind or related industry sector
  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience
  • A minimum of three years of management/supervisory experience
  • Experience working with budgets 

Competencies and Skills:

  • Sound knowledge of industry standards and legislation
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with discretion, tact, and timeliness
  • Proven computer literate with proficiency in utilizing and applying Microsoft Office as well as specialized software programs and computer applications, and ability to work with databases

 Terms of Employment

This position requires scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location and other locations related to delivering the program objectives.
