Salary: $25 per hour up to 26 hours per week
  • Oversee all aspects of students' field placements including securing placements
  • Facilitates all procedures relative to fieldwork, including completing forms required by the college and the visiting site (inc. agreements, fingerprinting, school board approval, etc.)
  • Work closely with college professors, center/school leadership and supervising teachers at the selected setting.
  • Provide opportunities for ongoing mentoring sessions with the teacher candidates in lesson design and implementation as needed.
  • At the direction of the professor, provides additional observation of the teacher candidates as needed for support and guidance
  • Support and build constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual regard between the teacher candidate and supervising teacher.
  • Conduct and document follow-up contacts for all services provided, identify, resolve and communicate obstacles and challenges to supervisors promptly.
  • Support the teacher candidate with effectively handling stressful or adverse situations associated with classroom management, making good decisions, working calmly and accurately, and helping to calm children.

Examples of acceptable settings for college student observation, interaction and lesson implementation are:

  • Public School classrooms serving children ages 4-8.
  • State approved Charter Schools serving children ages 3-8.
  • Head Start and Early Head Start programs serving children ages 0-5.
  • Licensed Child Development Centers serving children ages 0-5.
  • Licensed home care programs serving children ages 0-5
Minimum Requirements:


  • Coaching experience.
  • 2 years of experience in an Infant/Toddler setting.


  • Bachelor’s in Education or Early Childhood.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office, database systems, email and Internet.

This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
