Senior Nursing Clinical Instructor is responsible for teaching and evaluating students in the laboratory and clinical practice areas.

Duties:
  • Reports to the Division Chairperson, Nursing and Health Sciences
  • Teaches and evaluates students in the skill, simulation, and clinical practice areas in accordance with nursing program and course requirements
  • Assists the Senior Laboratory Manager with the operations of the clinical laboratories to include training faculty on the use of laboratory and simulation equipment and assisting with set-ups for skill and simulation experiences
  • Participates in student remediation activities to include special student clinical learning and refresher events (ATI, Expo, Brown Bag lunches, and Re-entry)
  • Assists with ATI proctoring, open-lab sessions, and course content tutoring
  • Manages the Trajecsys online system with responsibilities to include product orientation for faculty, staff, and students, and monitoring of student laboratory and clinical attendance and the completion of student clinical evaluations by faculty
  • Schedules student clinical rotations, orientations and badge distributions. Creates clinical faculty and student clinical schedules
  • Manages student health and program wide requirements and prepares clinical attestations reports
  • Maintains standards of professional nursing practice as an individual and as a member of the nursing team. Mentors clinical faculty. Serves as a role model for nursing students
  • Maintains competency in all designated practice areas by participating in continuing education programs and maintaining membership and participation in the Tri-State LRC consortium and the INASCL association
  • Adheres to all applicable College, Nursing Program, and Clinical Agency Policies and Procedures. Participates in all required orientations, classes, and meetings deemed necessary by the Nursing program or clinical partners
  • Participates in the recruitment and retention of Nursing and Health Science students.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey
  • Minimum two years of current acute care nursing clinical experience
  • Ability to teach in all areas of nursing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
