Duties:
  • Reports to the Executive Director, Marketing & College Relations
  • Transforms ideas into effective and creatively-driven communication for information and promotional purposes
  • Performs layout, design, illustration and pre-press production of printed materials including: advertising (billboards, digital ads, web banners), designing social media posts, schedules, flyers, collateral brochures, booklets, newsletters, posters, signs, invitations, displays, etc.
  • Creates logo types and illustrations
  • Collaborates with College Relations and internal departments as needed to determine marketing goals and needs
  • Prepares files for digital processing and traditional offset printing to 3rd party specifications
  • Works with commercial printers and in-house print shop staff to effectively resolve pre-press problems
  • Works independently, follows direction, establishes project priorities and meets strict deadlines
  • Dry mounts and/or laminates educational posters, photographs and other materials as needed
  • Maintains inventory of graphic design materials, including all photo and video files, and notifies office manager when supplies are needed
  • Bids print projects to be produced externally; reviews and approves proofs from printer.
  • Maintains project logs
  • Develops technical and professional skills through independent research by attending seminars and workshops and by maintaining an awareness of current and changing developments in graphic design and production
  • Ensures accuracy of work
  • Performs duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred, in Graphic Design
  • Five years of applicable experience
  • Experience developing style guides and logos
  • Experience creating digital materials that meet ADA accessibility standard of WCAG2.0 AA preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency on a MAC platform in Adobe Creative Cloud including In Design, Illustrator and Photoshop, MS Word
  • Skills in photo scanning and manipulation and preparation of electronic files for printing
  • Experience with HTML, Dreamweaver and other Web design tools
  • Photography experience a plus
This position requires flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
