Duties:
  • Reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and College Relations
  • Writes and edits news releases, media advisories, digital media content, and other publicity and promotional materials to support enhanced visibility for and understanding of college programs
  • Coordinates media and public relations events including managing members of the media and photography/videography
  • Supports the Director of Marketing and College Relations, the college’s senior administration and the Atlantic Cape Foundation to research and draft statements
  • Promotes Workforce Development courses, workshops, and events
  • Serves as liaison with Academy of Culinary Arts, working closely with Dean and chefs to publicize ACA activities
  • Develops, coordinates and manages ACA special events supporting culinary recruitment
  • Publicizes and markets Atlantic Cape Foundation special events including annual Restaurant Gala, campaigns and golf tournament
  • Manages college’s presence on all social media platforms including YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and others
  • Creates and updates content for its digital media applications, creates social media marketing campaigns for credit and non-credit recruitment
  • Researches best practices and new applications in the field of social media to increase awareness and audience engagement with the college
  • Assists with internal and crises communication, including developing and disseminating college-wide emails and other electronic communication, monitoring social media sites and ensuring communication of timely and accurate information to community during crisis
  • Assists with the production of college publications such as brochures and newsletters, including writing and editing copy and proofreading
  • Works with President’s office to coordinate and produce messages to the college community via video
  • Researches, monitors and implements, Web-based social networking and online public relations tools
  • Creates and approves content of Atlantic Cape website to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Coordinates work with part-time writers and student interns
  • Programs signboard at Mays Landing Campus
  • Sends marketing emails via Constant Contact
  • Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in multi-media, communications, public relations or journalism
  • Five years of experience in the field of public relations or multi-media
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to make independent decisions
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in photography and videography, including editing and photo/video sharing software and platforms
  • Solid knowledge of and relevant experience using online public relations tools, social media/networking applications, and online tools used to measure visibility of content
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and increase professional knowledge of the latest trends, practices, programs, and applications evolving in social media/networking
  • Self-starter able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
