This is a part-time Grant funded position scheduled to expire on or before June 30, 2018. Up to 26 hours per week At the direction of the Dean of Career Education and Workforce Development, creates and revises Career and Technical Education (CTE) curriculum for multiple disciplines including, but not limited to, Nursing and Allied Health, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Aviation Studies and Fine Arts.

  • Reports to the Dean, Career Education and Workforce Development
  • Works closely with subject matter faculty and conducts necessary research to develop new curriculum content
  • Collaborates with, and takes direction from, subject matter faculty to create 100- or 200-level curriculum (and related syllabi) that identifies course goals, course objectives, learning outcomes and assessments
  • Updates existing instructional and curriculum materials and reports, as directed
  • Participates and facilitates curriculum review, as directed
  • Differentiates course content and delivery methods for students as appropriate to the course level
  • Makes recommendations regarding course design, technology, and instruction delivery options appropriate to various types of learners
  • Evaluates course materials such as outlines, attachments and supplements
  • Conducts needs assessments and determines learning assessments to develop or to update curricula
  • Recommends instructional methods such as individual or group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstrations or simulation exercises appropriate for course content and student readiness levels
  • Analyzes student performance data to determine effectiveness of proposed instructional course design and suggested instructional materialsAssists the subject matter faculty in developing measurement tools to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of course curricula, according to ease of instructional technology use and institutional satisfaction of student learning outcomes
Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or instructional design required



  • 3-5 years of experience in developing/reviewing CTE curriculum
  • Experience working with subject matter faculty to develop and review accurate, relevant curriculum appropriate for 100- and/or 200-level college courses

  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and effective assessment strategies
  •  Knowledge of digital learning tools and the ability to select teaching methods appropriate for industry and student audience
  •  Strong written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  •  Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
  • Ability to reliably meet project deadlines
  •  Ability to receive feedback from internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, administrators and advisory board members and incorporate said feedback into curriculum
  •  Knowledge of copyright and trademark rules for writing and delivering course content and graphics
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with computer-based training software and current e- learning tools (Blackboard Learn 9) as well as current Microsoft Office products
  • Proactive, collaborative and flexible
