PT Culinary Assistant

  • Reports to the Dean of the Academy of Culinary Arts
  • Provides overall administrative support for the Academy of Culinary Arts including support for chef educators, staff and student needs
  • Create course spreadsheet for faculty and administration and share through Google docs
  • Maintains all communications with Academy Advisory Board, responsible for taking of minutes preparing documents for distribution, agenda and RSVP’s
  • Enters purchase requisitions
  • Calculates medal awards for graduation
  • Makes graduation arrangements including reserves space, assigns tasks to faculty, provides guidance in creating printed program, orders medals and creates certificates
  • Assigns advisors for incoming freshman, maintains advisee lists by faculty and updates each semester
  • Responsible for semi-annual mailing of advisement information to returning students, including creating queries, assembling materials and labels
  • Responsible for RSVP lists for special events
  • Handles restaurant reservations when the restaurant is closed
  • Organizes New Student orientation, schedules workshops, provides tour information and assists with registration
  • Assists with annual bid requests, processes annual accounts requisitions for water, flowers, copier, soil, bookstore, etc.
  • Updates program tracking sheets for three degree programs and two certificates and four specializations and shares information with Academic Affairs for catalogue accuracy
  • Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associates degree
  • Accounting and/or booking experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Access and Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to coordinate complex activities with multiple parties, prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with the community college mission and the regional hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of Ellucian’s Colleague management information system preferred
  • Bilingual preferred

This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends at any Atlantic Cape location.
