PT Student Lab Assistant

Salary: $8.44 per hour
  • Reports to the Assistant Director of Science Labs.
  • Adheres to all safety procedures and enforces safety regulations within the laboratories.
  • Conduct open lab hours at the Mays Landing and/or Cape May campus location(s).
    • Oversee student sign-in procedure and check student identification.
    • Assist students with the retrieval and handling of models and equipment.
    • Clean and reset the laboratory for the next class.
  • Clean and reset laboratories.
  • Maintains and cleans laboratory glassware, equipment, cabinets, shelves and prep carts.
  • Reports problems and issues to the Assistant Director of Science Labs.
  • Monitors security of laboratories, equipment, models and supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Science major preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to be assertive as needed to enforce safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to walk/stand for entire shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb two flights of stairs, ladder and/or step stool.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of science equipment, materials and safety practices.
  • This position requires the handling of hazardous materials.


Coverage needed for the following hours:

Mays Landing Campus

Monday 4pm- 6:30pm

Tuesday 5:30pm- 8:00pm

Wednesday: 12:30pm-3:00pm

Thursday 8:30am -11:00am


Cape May Campus

 Wednesday: 12:30pm - 2:00pm
