AOL Instructions

Directions to set AOL to the library proxy server:

AOL Users:

You cannot change the AOL browser interface, but you can change the settings of the browser that runs within the AOL interface.

  • Log onto AOL then minimize the AOL window
  • Left click on your Internet Explorer icon to start the browser.
  • Open Library page (The URL for Atlantic Cape library can be reached through the college home page: www.atlantic.edu)
  • Click on Properties
  • Click on Connection Tab
  • Click on button for "Settings" in the Dial Up Users frame.
  • Click on check box for " Use a proxy server"
  • Type 192.133.105.15 as HTTP address and 3128 as port
  • Click OK
  • Click OK again-- You have now set manual proxy on
  • Click on a library database, e.g. Lexis.
  • You will then be asked for your ID and Password

To remove proxy when you are finished, simply repeat the above steps to the point where you select manual proxies. At that point click "Direct connection to Internet" instead. This will leave the proxy address in your browser. From now on you simply have to toggle from proxy to direct in your browser.
