Atlantic Cape Board of Trustees Recognizes Outstanding Staff Achievements

The Atlantic Cape Community College Board of Trustees conducted their monthly meeting Tuesday, December 18 at the Mays Landing Campus. The following motions were approved by the Board:

Contracts and Purchases:


Approved OQ164, Live Chat Services, Ivy.ai, Inc., Durham, NC, NJ Community College Opportunity Grant, $27,195.00.

Approved Bid Ex. 813, TV Search Appliance, Snapstream Media Inc., Houston, TX, R&R, $31,740.00.

In Personnel Matters, the Board Approved:

The recognition of Gorgianne Giordano, Human Resource Specialist, as the 2019 Employee of the Year and thanking her for her outstanding service to the College.

The recognition of Professor Karl Giulian for being awarded the prestigious Community College Distinguished Faculty Award by the New Jersey Council of County Colleges (NJCCC) and thanking him for his remarkable service to the college, our local community and his students.

The issuance of notices of layoff to members of the Academy of Culinary Arts Faculty Association due to a natural diminution of the number of students in programs offered by the Academy of Culinary Arts.

The appointment of Timothy Cwik, Interim Division Chair, Aviation Studies, effective January 2, 2019.

The appointment of Lawrencia Nnadi, Senior Nursing Lab Manager, effective January 2, 2019.

The resignation of Kelle Venturi, Manager, Financial Aid, effective January 1, 2019.

In Other Business, the Board:

Approved the elimination of Policy No. 11 Issues of Compassion and Welfare – Employees and Trustees.

Reaffirmed Policy #14 Maintenance of the Policy and Procedures Manual.

Approved the FY18 Draft Financial Statement for twelve months ended June 30, 2018 as of December 6, 2018.

Approved the FY19 Financial Statement for five months ended November 30, 2018.

Formally honored the legacy of Mr. Eric Reynolds and extend to his family and friends its sincere condolences.

Approved a two-percent (2%) annual salary increase for Dr. Barbara Gaba, President of Atlantic Cape and commended her on an outstanding job performance specifically noting Middle States Reaccreditation, strengthening high school and community partnerships and improving Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility for all students, among other accomplishments.
