Atlantic Cape Community College recently welcomed three new members to its Board of Trustees.

Longport Borough Clerk Monica Kyle and President of Pivot Strategies, LLC Flora Castillo joined the board this summer, as well as new Alumni Trustee Julia Train of Mays Landing.

“We are so thrilled to welcome our new members to the Board of Trustees. Their combined professional experience, dedication to serving their communities, and diverse backgrounds will be an asset to the college as we start a new school year and continue to promote attainable, affordable higher education in southern New Jersey,” said Atlantic Cape President Dr. Barbara Gaba.

Kyle, of Northfield, has more than 19 years of public service experience and currently serves as the Registered Municipal Clerk for the Borough of Longport. She was formerly the Communications Manager for the Atlantic County Utilities  Authority and has certification and experience as a Technical Assistant to the Construction Official.

Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stockton University in 1999.

Castillo, of Ventnor, started her company, Pivot Strategies, LLC., a consulting firm serving the transportation, infrastructure, and health insurance industries, after 20 years of holding executive leadership roles with some of America's leading health care insurance companies.

In addition to serving on several national, local, and state boards including National Urban Fellows, Rail-Volution, and American Public Transportation Association, Castillo served over two decades as a senior policymaker and member of the Board of Directors at New Jersey Transit. She was the first Latina and youngest member of the board and served under seven (7) Democratic and Republican administrations. Castillo received her bachelor's degree in Management Business Administration from Long Island University in Southampton, NY.

Train is a 2022 Atlantic Cape Community College graduate selected by her peers to represent the college’s alumni on the Board. She holds an Associate in Arts in Communication and is currently studying at Rider University, majoring in Multiplatform Journalism.

Train also serves as the Alumni Trustee representative on the Academic and Student Affairs Committee, the Marketing Committee, and the College's Foundation Board.
