Paul Caris - Keynote speaker

Paul CarisPaul Caris is a Geographic Information Systems Specialist for the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of GIS, and has worked with geospatial technology since the early 1990s. Prior to joining NJ DEP, he was employed by the Middlesex County Planning Department as a planner and GIS Manager from 1990 through 1998.

Paul and has been active in the Mid Atlantic Chapter of URISA since 1999, served on the conference planning committee for many years, and is currently the MAC URISA President. He is a member of URISA (since 1998) and is also a long-time member of the Association of American Geographers. Paul was certified as a GISP in 2008 by the GIS Certification Institute.

Paul’s academic background is in the field of Geography (BA from SUNY-Geneseo, MA from Kent State University, and Ph.D. from Rutgers University).
