Safe Campus Inititiative

Mission:

To assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring Atlantic Cape Community College’s security and safety plan, designed to mitigate and prevent property loss and/or personal injury to all user groups within the college community and thereby create a safe campus environment.

Atlantic Cape’s Technology Studies Institute is engaged in a project that will incorporate GIS technology into the College’s Safe Campus Initiative. Under the leadership of Luis Olivieri, GIS Senior Manager, student interns are mapping every college building on all three campuses, with the goal of providing our external first-responders access to every building on campus, including all entrances and exits, roof access, fire alarms and hydrants, chemical storage, and more. When finished, this data will be available to police, fire and other emergency responders on a secure server that can be accessed remotely over the web via desktops and laptop computers as well as other mobile devices.
