Mission of GeoWEP
The mission of the GeoWEP is to develop the workforce to create a competitive academic program which responds to the needs for professionals with the required skills and knowledge in the area of geospatial technologies.
The goals of the GeoWEP are:
- Attract and train new students and incumbent workers in GIS technology fields to widen career opportunities
- Offer GIS technology-based courses in related disciplines, integrating the technologies in various sciences, technology, and mathematic programs.
- Advance students into GIS based degree programs
- Work with employers, area high schools, and other institutions of higher education to raise the base science, technology, and math aptitude of the local current and future workforce.
