Hotel Guest Specialist Professional Series
A two-semester series designed to prepare students, who are not seeking a degree, with the knowledge and skills required for entry-level hotel positions and for the person considering a career change into the hospitality industry. Students completing the series can expect to be placed in the reservations, front desk or guest services department of a hotel.
Courses are offered in the day or evening and the series can be completed in one year. Credits earned can be applied toward the Hospitality Management or Travel and Tourism degree programs, as well as other degree programs.
Upon successful completion of all courses, students will receive a letter of recognition. In addition, Introduction to the Hospitality Industry and Front Office Operations are certification courses from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA). Students completing these courses will take the institute examination, and if a passing grade is achieved, will be awarded certificates from the AH&LA.
