In the event of bad weather or other emergency, announcements of ACCC closings are carried over local radio stations. These should be noted carefully as the closings may be for different sites or morning, afternoon or evening classes only. Radio stations in Philadelphia use the number 918 for day, and 2910 for evening cancellations. ACCC feels that students have the right to decide that extreme weather and road conditions prevent them from attending classes when the college is open but expects to be notified in advance of the absence and the reason for not attending. Students who miss a class must still complete assignments.
All classes cancelled by ACCC will be assigned a make-up time. Students should contact the faculty support office (609) 343-5114 to report any absence.
When individual classes are cancelled due to an instructor's absence, every effort will be made to contact students in advance. If this is not possible, a notice will be posted and a substitute assignment may be given. In the event no prior notification of an instructor's absence is given, students are required to wait 15 minutes after the class start time for an instructor to arrive. After 15 minutes, one student should collect the names of those present and report the instructor's absence to the Faculty Support Office, Lake A128.
