Policy No. 205

Intercollegiate and Intramural Athletics

Adopted: 04/23/96
Revisions Approved: 1/26/10; 10/27/2020

Atlantic Cape promotes intercollegiate and intramural athletics as a valuable component of the educational experience.

The extent of the programs is dependent upon the interests of students as participants and spectators as well as budgetary and facility considerations.

The conduct of the intercollegiate athletics program will be in accord with the principles of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as long as these principles are not in conflict with policies of Atlantic Cape.

The welfare of the students and the interests of the College will be protected by adequate:

  1. supervision and personal attention of College representatives at all athletic events, practice sessions and travel;
  2. on-site first responder medical attention provided via the Atlantic Cape Security Department, an athletic trainer or school nurse;
  3. travel insurance in accordance with College risk management policies.
