Policy No. 513

Adopted: 12/19/17

Description: Institutional Review Board (IRB) Compliance

In order to ensure the protection of the rights and welfare of all human subjects involved in research activities conducted at the College, the College will ensure such research is conducted in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.  This applies to any such work, whether new, ongoing or to support proposed funding, and whether conducted at College sites or off-site locations.

Accordingly, all research involving human subjects must be reviewed and approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the protection of human subjects in research prior to such studies being undertaken.

The Institutional Research Department initiates the IRB as needed.
