Dual Credit Program

What is Dual Credit?

Dual enrollment programming provides an opportunity for high school students to earn college credit by taking college-level courses while simultaneously earning their high school diploma.

Dual credit courses are taught by Atlantic and Cape May County high school teachers who meet college-level educational standards. These high school teachers work closely with Atlantic Cape faculty liaisons to ensure the academic rigor the students exhibit in their high school course is equivalent to Atlantic Cape’s college course.  Upon dual credit course completion, you receive a letter grade that is then recorded on your official Atlantic Cape Community College transcript.

Three Easy Steps to Earn College Credit

APPLY

Step 1: APPLY to Atlantic Cape. Once you are enrolled in a dual credit course at your high school, create an admissions account and select the Early College Application. You will receive an acceptance letter with your student ID number and login credentials. The deadline to apply to Atlantic Cape for students who opt to earn college credit for the 2022-23 school year is JANUARY 14, 2023.

REGISTER

STEP 2: REGISTER for dual credit. On March 15, 2023, registration for dual credit courses will open. At that time, Atlantic Cape will send you an email instructing you to log into your Atlantic Cape "Self-Service" student account. You will see a list of courses that you are currently enrolled in at your high school that are eligible for dual credit. Select the courses for which you'd like to earn college credit, and click register. The deadline to register for dual credit for the 2022-23 school year is May 15, 2023.

EARN

STEP 3EARN college credit. To receive college credit through Atlantic Cape's dual enrollment program, students only pay $59.30 per credit -- nearly a 60% savings! Students will receive dual credit if they earn a C or better in their high school dual credit course. Credit earned may be applied toward a certificate or degree at Atlantic Cape. Check out your degree and certificate options on our Academic Programs page. More information about transferring credit can be found at NJ Transfer.

Meet Andrew Rock

andrew-rockAndrew Rock graduated as an "Early College Program Student" that included dual, concurrent, and articulated credits. He attended Atlantic County Institute of Technology High School (ACIT) and Atlantic Cape Community College. Andrew began his college journey at only 14. This program allowed Andrew to graduate in the Spring of 2020 with both his associate's degree from Atlantic Cape and his high school diploma from ACIT. Andrew is attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, studying Aviation Meteorology and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Andrew held himself to a higher standard given this opportunity at Atlantic Cape and excelled through challenges.
