Technology Resources

Atlantic Cape understands that some students may have limited or no access to technology or the internet. As we transition to online instruction, below are some resources to help keep you connected:

Comcast has adjusted its Internet Essentials program to meet the needs of low-income residents by offering two free months of Internet service effective March 16.

  • To sign up, applicants can simply visit www.internetessentials.com. The accessible website also includes the option to video chat with customer service agents in American Sign Language. There are also two dedicated phone numbers 1-855-846-8376 for English and 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish.

  • They will send all new customers a free self-install kit that includes a cable modem with a Wi-Fi router. There will be no term contract or credit check and no shipping fee.

  • After your first two free months expire, you can either cancel the service (which you can do at any time) or keep it as a regular paying Internet Essentials customer.

  • Click here for Internet Essentials information sheet

If you are or if you become an Internet Essentials customer, you have the option to purchase a laptop or desktop computer for $150.00. Each eligible family may purchase up to five (5) devices. Click here to apply for a computer. Comcast has also announced that Xfinity hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity customers – for the next 60 days.

  • Xfinity hotspot locations can be found at the Xfinity Hot Spot website (mobile optimized so you can use your phones to find locations) -- https://wifi.xfinity.com

FCC Agreement and Cell Provider Information:

  • FCC agreement stating that providers will waive late fees, not cutoff service for lack of payment, and open hot-spots.

  • AT&T COVID-19 response: offers open hot-spots, unlimited data to existing customers, and $10/month plans to low-income families

  • Verizon COVID-19 response: no special offers, but following the FCC agreement.

  • Sprint COVID-19 response: follows FCC agreement, provides unlimited data to existing customers, and, starting Tuesday, 3/17/2020, will allow all handsets to enable hot-spots for 60 days at no extra charge

  • T-Mobile COVID-19 response: follows FCC agreement, plus unlimited data to existing customers, and, coming soon, will allow all handsets to enable hot-spots for 60 days at no extra charge
