MAYS LANDING — Atlantic Cape Community College officially opened its latest Nonprofit Resource Center at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City campus library during an unveiling ceremony on Wednesday, December 7.

“It is special to me, as an Atlantic City native and resident, that we are offering this much-needed resource for the community and how important this resource center will be to the organizations and people who need it,” said Dr. Natalie Devonish, Atlantic Cape’s Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

Those in attendance were invited to take part in a hands-on training session following the festivities to get an overview of the Nonprofit Resource Center’s (NRC) software program. Janet Hauge, Atlantic Cape’s Director of Academic Support Services, stated the public may utilize the program with or without a librarian’s assistance in the NRC office, library or computer lab. Hours during the Fall and Spring semesters are from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. No appointment is needed.

“We want to thank Atlantic Cape because we wouldn’t be here with them, Evan Sanchez and his nonprofit, the ThriveAC Fund, and to all of you (in attendance) because it takes a lot of effort to start a nonprofit, to make things happen and to get things done,” said James M. Rutala, President, Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation.

The Nonprofit Resource Center offers free access to the Funding Information Network (FIN) located in the Worthington Atlantic City campus library. The FIN is a suite of online databases from Candid. It offers the most up-to-date information on available grant opportunities and funding history for 140,000+ U.S. and international foundations, corporations, and federal agencies.

The Nonprofit Resource Center is made possible thanks to the Atlantic Cape Foundation and the ThriveAC Fund. The Worthington Atlantic City campus is located at 1535 Bacharach Boulevard. For more information and to make an appointment to meet with a librarian, email fin@atlanticcape.edu.
