Atlantic Cape’s Annual Career Fair Allows Students to Speak with Potential Employers and Apply for Jobs

MAYS LANDING — Whether in search of career options following graduation or just seeking a job over the summer break, Atlantic Cape Community College students met with more than a dozen local businesses and organizations during its Annual Career Fair on April 13 in the Student Center on the Mays Landing campus.

A wide range of local employers met with students face-to-face to discuss their career goals and aspirations, provide professional advice and hand out job applications. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and Caesars Atlantic City Hotel & Casino represented the local gaming industry. The Atlantic City Police Department, Galloway Township Police and the New Jersey Department of Corrections represented law enforcement. Local retailers and restaurants, such as Spencer’s, It’s Sugar, Carmine’s and Brady’s Hoagies attended as well.

“I am interested in the Reserves and maybe working in communications with them. I wanted to discuss all of the options that I may have,” Lopez said.

General Studies major Juliet Mayes of Galloway and Human Services major Diana Nambo of Egg Harbor Township were on the lookout for temporary positions.

Atlantic Cape students Juliet Mayes and Diana Nambo speak with a representative from the NJ Department of Corrections“I am here to possibly find a job, but I am still deciding because I want to finish my second year here at Atlantic Cape before finding a job or going into the hospitality field,” Mayes said, while Nambo added that “I am looking to apply for a job at Spencer’s and maybe something in cosmetology.”

Computer Information Systems major Maksym Fedemko of Absecon spoke with representatives from The Deauville Inn in Strathmere and eagerly filled out an application.

Atlantic Cape student Maksym Fedemko meets with a representative from Borgata“I am thinking about getting a seasonal job as a bartender,” said Fedemko, who is also interested in Internet technology jobs that coincide with his college major.

An additional Career Fair will be held at Atlantic Cape’s Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City campus for students and alumni on Tuesday, April 18 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Visit atlanticcape.edu/careerfair for more information and a list of participating employers.
