MAYS LANDING — Atlantic Cape Community College will host a takeout/dine-in pasta dinner fundraiser benefiting the college’s Hunger-Free Campus Program on Wednesday, April 12 from 4:30 - 7 p.m. on the Mays Landing campus at the student-run gourmet restaurant, Careme’s.

All of the proceeds from this event will go towards combating food insecurity and supporting student success through campus initiatives, such as on-campus food pantries, food distribution events and meal vouchers for students in need. The generosity from supporters of this fundraiser will help to sustain these programs and allow Atlantic Cape to alleviate student hunger.

"Food insecurity among college students is a major problem nationwide and Atlantic Cape is no exception. Nearly 500 students visit the College’s food pantries each academic year and this number continues to grow,” said Dr. Vanessa O’Brien-McMasters, Atlantic Cape’s VP of Institutional Effectiveness and Chief Strategy Officer. “The Pasta Night fundraiser is not only an opportunity for community members to enjoy a tasty meal prepared by our talented Academy of Culinary Arts students, but it is also a great way for us to raise awareness and funds for this important cause, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the college’s Hunger-Free Campus Program."

On the menu for this Pasta Night Fundraiser will be a penne pasta dinner with marinara sauce for $20, and pasta dinners with choice of chicken parmesan, meatballs or Italian sausage for $25 each. Extra chicken parmesan, meatballs and Italian sausage are available for $5 apiece. Each dinner comes with a Caesar side salad, focaccia bread and two mini cannoli. Dinners will be available for takeout between 4:30 - 7 p.m. Dine-in option is available between 5 - 7 p.m. at Careme’s. To make a reservation, contact Careme’s by calling (609) 343-4940 or email at caremes@atlanticcape.edu.

Atlantic Cape’s Hunger-Free Campus Program makes a positive impact in the lives of the college’s students by addressing their basic food needs through the campus food pantries, food distribution events, and meal voucher program. By addressing students’ holistic needs, Atlantic Cape is helping to remove barriers that might otherwise prevent them from reaching their academic goals.

Pre-order your takeout dinner and pre-pay via credit card at Pasta Night Fundraiser menu. This event was funded by the Hunger Free Campus Grant Program through the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE).
