graduating studentsWhat time do I need to arrive for commencement?

Arrival time is no later than 9:15 a.m. in Gym “E” Building.

 

If the weather is uncertain?

A decision will be made by 6:30 a.m. on the day of commencement and posted on our website www.atlantic.edu and via Text Alert. If you have not signed up for Text Alert, please sign up today.

 

How do I know if my name is on the participation list?

All students who purchase a cap and gown will be on the participation list as long as they have met the requirements for participation in the ceremony.

 

If you borrowed a cap and gown from a student that graduated in 2021, please notify the Student Affairs Office that you will be participating in commencement (609-343-5083 or 609-463-4774 ext 5083 or amilliga@atlanticcape.edu). Cap and gowns older than 2020 are not permitted. 

 

I am not participating in the ceremony, how will I receive my diploma?

You will be notified via your buccaneer email to pick up your diploma. Any questions regarding your degree audit or diploma please contact 609-343-5005 or 609-463-4774 ext. 5005 or register@atlanticcape.edu.

 

How many tickets will I receive for guests?

Tickets are not necessary. The ceremony will be held outside. In the event of severe weather, a decision to delay (later time, same day) will be made at 6:30 am on the day of commencement and posted on our website at www.atlanticcape.edu and sent out via Text Alert. Arrival and commencement time remains the same.

 

What is the length of the ceremony?

The length of the ceremony is approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours.

 

Am I eligible to wear an honor stole?

I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK). Do I wear the red honor stole or the gold PTK honor stole?

PTK members can order a gold honor stole and tassel through their advisor. Graduates may decide whether to wear the gold or the red honor stole and tassel.

 

Can children accompany parents on stage when receiving their diplomas?

For liability reasons, children are not allowed on stage with their parents. Children attending the ceremony must be supervised at all times by someone other than the graduate.
