Description: Recycling Policy

INTRODUCTION
On March 5, 1990, County Executive Richard Squires issued a challenge to businesses and local municipalities throughout Atlantic county to initiate or expand recycling efforts. Currently, the County is recycling 15% of the mandatory 25% of the waste stream. In response to the challenge, Atlantic Cape Community College shall begin a recycling program at Mays Landing and Atlantic City campuses.

GOAL
The goal of the College recycling program is to maximize the diversion of in-house generated waste material from disposal at the landfill for the purpose of reducing waste disposal costs, stimulating public awareness and showing sensitivity to the environment.

RECYCLABLES
Atlantic Cape has targeted the following materials as recyclables:

  • Assorted Metals
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Office and Computer Paper
  • Corrugated Cardboard
  • Motor Oil and Filters
  • Anti-freeze
  • Batteries
