Senior Manager, Grants Accountant

||Reports to the Controller; uses Accounting and Analytical skills to monitor, track, prepare and submit grant and contract financial reports for both external agencies and internal use; enters grant and contract budgets in Colleague; communicates and coordinates grant activities with college personnel and external agencies; serves as the financial point of contact for internal and external agencies; assists in the preparation of financial documents, including the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards and the Schedule of Expenditures of State Financial Assistance; inspects items on grant expenditure reports to determine if within grant budget narrative and to determine if proper procedures were followed in recording transactions; applies principles of accounting to analyze past and present financial operations relating to grants and contracts; interprets accounts and records of financial transactions for college administration and external agencies; reviews Employee Assignment Forms for proper account coding and budgetary compliance; prepares monthly payroll allocation journal entries where applicable; codes checks and EFT payments received for posting to the proper restricted general ledger account; maintains calendar/ schedule of financial report deadlines to ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements; prepares Grant Directory; uses Ad-hoc reporting tools (currently Ellucian Colleague and Intrinsik Informer); performs related duties as assigned.
|Minimum Requirements:||Bachelorís degree. Strong technology skills to include Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Excel. Strong report writing skills. Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills. Accounting experience. Experience working with Ellucianís Colleague management information system, Intrinsic Informer preferred. Effective communication skills.|
