Atlantic Cape nows offers a new Practical Nursing Certification Program

MAYS LANDING — Atlantic Cape Community College’s Nursing Program has been training and graduating competent, ethical and caring nurses since the college’s inception in 1967. Today, Atlantic Cape is offering a Practical Nursing (PN) Certificate Program that will provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to help them start a successful career in nursing.

Designed to be completed in 18 months, the PN Certificate Program cohort allows students to learn in a smaller class setting while offering personalized attention and an all-encompassing teaching experience that includes in-person classroom, laboratory and faculty-supervised clinics similar to registered nursing (RN) programs.

“Licensed Practical Nurses are highly-valued caregivers who are able to practice across multiple areas of the healthcare industry. The Atlantic Cape Nursing Program takes great pride in being able to provide the education needed to prepare these significant members of the healthcare team for a fulfilling career,” said Myrna Morales-Keklak, Atlantic Cape’s Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Upon earning a PN certificate, students may be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN exam and enter the workforce. If graduates wish to continue their nursing studies they may apply to an LPN-to-RN program right here at Atlantic Cape. PNs can be a part of a growing and rewarding industry that provides basic patient care, and supports doctors and RNs with their patients.

This is a competitive program with limited space available. Applications are currently being accepted until Saturday, July 15, 2023. Admission will be awarded based on a comprehensive judging rubric, which may be found in the 2023 PN application at atlanticcape.edu/pnprogram. Additional points will be awarded to students currently employed in Healthcare and to residents of Atlantic or Cape May counties.

Scholarship opportunities may be available for new and returning students.

Learn more about the application process by attending our upcoming virtual Practical Nursing Program webinar on Wednesday, July 5, 4 - 5 p.m. Register today online at atlanticcape.edu/nursinginfosessions.
