2024-2025 FAFSA Information

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is changing! The U.S. Department of Education is in the process of implementing a major overhaul of the federal student aid system, starting with the 2024-2025 financial aid year. For those who have previously completed a FAFSA, the 2024-2025 application is going to look a little different!

In the past, students were able to complete and submit the FAFSA for an upcoming academic year beginning in October. The 2024-2025 FAFSA application has undergone significant changes, and is now available to students and parents.  The Federal Student Aid website may occasionally pause access to the FAFSA form to perform maintenance and improve the user experience.

Atlantic Cape Community College will be receiving and processing the FAFSA Applications soon.  Once your application is in the College system, a message will be sent to your Buccaneer email, and you can view the details in Self-Service.

To apply for financial aid, you must complete the FAFSA each academic year. Go to www.studentaid.gov > Apply for Aid > Complete the FAFSA Form to get started. You can complete the FAFSA online and sign it electronically with your FSA ID.

Your FAFSA application is used to apply for the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Work Study, SEOG, Federal Direct Loans and the NJ State Grants. Additional steps may be required in order to receive the NJ State Grants, which are administered by HESAA. More information about the NJ State Grants are found at hesaa.org

Why Should I Apply for Financial Aid?

All students are encouraged to apply regardless of income level. Need-based aid isn’t the only financial aid available. If your family’s income is too high, you may not qualify for certain aid programs — namely, federal grants. But you still need to fill out your financial aid application, if you want to be considered for other aid. Other aid includes work-study programs and federal student loans.
