What if I have trouble accessing my online course?

First, check the start date of the online course. Most online courses begin on the day the semester officially begins. Check the official start date of the semester on the college's academic calendar.


OK, the semester's officially started, but I still cannot log in.

Be sure you are typing your login information (User Name and Password or Course codes) correctly. If you still need help, call the Atlantic Cape Online Course Helpline at 1-800-617-2191 or send your question to Online Help at onlinehelp@atlantic.edu


I am typing my User Name and Password, but keep receiving an error that I have entered an incorrect user name or password.
Your user name for Blackboard CE 8 is your 7-digit Colleague ID number. If you do not know your Colleague ID number, you can obtain this information in WebAdvisor by accessing "My Profile" under the "Students" section. If you experience difficulty accessing WebAdvisor, please contact Enrollment Services by email at register@atlantic.edu or by phone at 609-343-5662. If you are taking an ONLINE class, you should have received an email at your buccaneer.atlantic.edu email address that contains your Colleague ID number. Please include all 7 digits of your Colleague ID number, including all zeros (ie. 0003456). Your password for Blackboard CE 8 is your date of birth (mm/dd/yy) with no slashes (ie. 102070).

I am able to login to Blackboard CE 8, but there are no courses listed on my My Blackboard page.
Access to your courses will not begin until the first day of the semester. Although you will be able to access Blackboard CE 8 several days prior to the start of the semester, your courses will not appear on your My Blackboard page until the first day of class. If you still do not have any courses listed on your My Blackboard page as of the first day of class, please contact Online Help.

How do I purchase my textbooks?
The required textbooks and materials must be purchased in person or online at the secure Atlantic Cape Bookstore Web site.

I have software on my computer that stops those annoying Internet pop-up ads. Is this a problem?
YES. You will need to disable your pop-up blocker in your Web browser in order to successfully navigate Blackboard CE 8. Refer to the documentation that came with your pop-up blocker software to temporarily disable it when you want to work on your course.

Why is there a red "X" when I am trying to upload files from My Computer?
You need to update your Java in your Web browser. You can go to http://java.com to update yourJava for free. Click "Do I have Java?" and you will receive a message telling you whether or not you have the recommended version of Java installed. If you are prompted that you do not have the correct version of Java, you can download the correct version by clicking the "Download Java Now" blue button.
