Transfer Planning

Start Close to Home, Go Far!

Planning to transfer after Atlantic Cape? You Have Options

Atlantic Cape is committed to giving you the knowledge, tools and confidence to reach your goals—whether that means earning a bachelor’s or even a graduate degree. Many students begin at Atlantic Cape to save money, stay close to home, or explore different majors before transferring. Whatever your path looks like, we’re here to help you move forward.

Atlantic Cape has transfer agreements with more than 25 universities to provide a seamless transfer experience. These partnerships—often called transfer, articulation, 2+2, or 3+1 programs—make it easier to transfer your credits, stay on track and avoid repeating courses. Even if your dream school isn’t on the list, you can still transfer by meeting that college’s requirements. Either way, we’ll help make sure your hard work is rewarded.

Preparing to Transfer

Do your research, stay organized, and keep track of deadlines and financial aid opportunities. Most colleges have priority transfer deadlines: around November 1 for Spring admission and March 1 for Fall. Deadlines vary by school, so always double-check.

Use your Self Service Student Planner in Atlantic Cape Connect to track your degree progress. Knowing your completed credits helps you figure out what you’ll need after you transfer.

Don’t forget to file your FAFSA (for federal aid) and HESAA (for New Jersey state aid) early—and list the schools you’re applying to. If a school asks for your current college code, Atlantic Cape’s CEEB code is 2024.

When you apply to transfer, send your official transcript, then send it again after your final grades and degree are posted. You can request transcripts through the National Student Clearinghouse for a small fee.

  • First, you'll earn your associate degree in your select major at Atlantic Cape.
  • Then, instead of transferring to your new school right away, you'll take your junior year at Atlantic Cape at a reduced tuition rate.
  • When your junior year is complete, you will then transfer to complete your bachelor's degree at your chosen university at the university's tuition prices.
